Positive: This place is more than just a room to sleep, it is an experience not to be missed. It is great value for what it costs, but if you really need the comforts of a 100 euro room this is not for you. The people running it are fantastic and will tell you all you want to know about the hisrory behind it.

Positive: Absolutely delightful stay in the old kolkhoz headquarters. Pilskalne is as peaceful as it gets and the bulding has been lovingly renovated and kept very clean by the warm and friendly owner Lidija who was waiting for me to check in. Daughter Vita was also there to greet me and translate the interesting history of the place. The two women really made me feel at home. I had a fantastic sleep in the very comfortable bed of the Agronom room which stayed very cool even in warm weather. The hostel like building has a shared bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Upstairs Lidija has created a little museum room with interesting documents and items from the Soviet era. Outside there is a garden area with seating. Such fantastic value for money. Thank you Lidija and Vita ❤️.
